About

Play Anywhere Now or Never! is a collaborative project by artists Helen Stratford and Idit Nathan.

We have worked together since 2012. In 2015-16 we worked with METAL, first in Peterborough and then in Southend, to develop a playful App. For countless days we have walked through Peterborough and Southend streets with many of its residents past and present, recalling and imagining opportunities to play the city – now or never! Since then we have changed our name to Play Anywhere Now or Never! and have worked with numerous organisations- Yorkshire Sculputure Park, National Theatre, Wellcome Collection, Furtherfield, LADA and Wysing Arts Centre to name but some.

You can download the complete list: Nathan_Stratford_Collaborative_CV_2020.

  1. hi to the artists & their team. i am part of an art class called “the walking seminar”, which discusses walking as an aesthetic practice. We pair readings from artists with “walkshops” designed or inspired by people who follow the same theme. i am in covid quarantine and the professor sent me to your dice for my alternate assignment. I noticed your app and wanted to see what it is about, but it is not available for USA customers. I was wondering, is the project too closely tied to the cities you worked in to be expanded here to the states, or is it a licensing thing that prevents the app being available? If you are curious about the class I am in, here is the prof’s website for it: https://walkingseminar.wordpress.com/ . he is having us document our experiences in a e-portfolio, which ive linked in the “website” part of the comment box. I know this is sort of rambly but I thought you might be interested to learn about an art class that focuses on walking. have a good day!
