Further Afield

Further Afield is on its way…

We’ve been very busy in the past few weeks getting the wordy wooden blocks that make up Further Afield – our new artwork commission for Yorkshire Sculpture Park- ready to install. After days of sanding, treating and painting the words – they were transported to YSP and are now awaiting our arrival there and the tech team’s attentive installation in the grounds.

Walking Talking – a 20×20 Vision for walking

We’ve recorded a five minute prediction answering the simple question posed by the Walking Talking project– what might the world of walking be like in twenty years time?

Have a listen here.

Our recording was made at 5pm on 2nd December 2020, whilst walking through deciduous woodland along the boundary line of Suffolk and East Cambridgeshire, somewhere between the A142, the Ipswich to Ely railway line, Turners lorry park and the village of Landwade.

Lockdown Days

Following a lovely trip up to Yorkshire Sculpture Park in March, only days before the outbreak became official, we were all set up to announce the launch of our new work there, which was supposed to take place in May.

Now we – like everyone else we know – are on hold till its safe to go back out. In the meantime – we’ve been invited by Absolutely Cultured to take part in Keeping happy, healthy and creative at home (Thursday 30 April, 6-8pm) – an online session to discuss how, as artists and creatives, we’re tackling creativity during isolation, and to explore how we can better support one another to overcome the barriers each of us may be facing. Do join us by registering here its free and informal.

We’re also working on a playful provocation for days of social isolation – watch this space for updates…

BETA TESTING AHEAD OF FREE FUTURE FAIR! ( & ALIVE)

Final round of Beta testing couldn’t have gone better (after some technical issues we won’t bore you with) – App is looking good – full of mischievous instructions for playful interaction that also reference Finsbury Park’s rich political heritage – a wonderful place to make work for (see images to get an idea).

All this is in preparation for our launch at FREE FAIR festival – 10th August (1000-1600) at Finsbury Park .
